Stavropol State Medical University was founded in 1938. Since that time thousands of highly skilled specialists working all over the world were prepared at the University. In 2005, the English-speaking Medium was opened in the University, where the training is conducted in English. The University has a modern material and technical base, allowing it to provide a high educational level. The training is carried out according to the curricula that are specially adapted to the national programs of foreign students and authorized by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia. The General Medicine Faculty
General Medicine is the field of medicine that covers the health problems of 18-year- old persons and older, except dentistry. A variety of pathology, its variability under the influence of environmental factors and society lead to the revealing of new diseases that require a doctor’s expert knowledge and high skills.
The General Medicine Faculty is the oldest one at our university. The teaching of the specialty «General Medicine» at Stavropol State Medical University takes place in more than 40 departments. The academic process is carried out by highly qualified specialists. The teaching staff of the Faculty consists of 32 professors, 29 associate professors, and 56 Candidates of Medical Sciences. The faculty is proud of its students. The overwhelming majority of doctors working in the Stavropol Region are the graduates of the General Medicine Faculty.
The course of study at the faculty is 6 years. During two years students master the humanitarian and microbiological subjects. From the third course, students begin to study clinical disciplines, such as Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases and General Surgery. Senior students study Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neurology, Urology, Traumatology, Dermatovenerology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Phthisiatry, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Clinical Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Physiotherapy. Every academic year, students of the General Medicine Faculty have Medical Practice. The graduates of the Faculty are awarded the qualification of «Physician » in specialty «General Medicine». They have the opportunity to get a specialization in any field of health service, except Dentistry.
The Faculty of Pediatrics
Pediatrics is the science about children, their development, and the morphological and functional maturation of the organism, specific responses to any external factors and diseases, which are specific to childhood. Pediatric service covers all childish population aged from birth to 18 years old. Unlike most other clinical specialties, a pediatrician must not only know and be able to treat children's diseases, but to understand the regularities of the formation of the child's body; they must be able to recognize abnormalities in the development of a healthy child to prevent the diseases in time. Also, several diseases are found only in childhood, so as a rule the doctors of the other specialties are not fully mastered the concepts and skills of their treatment.
The Faculty of Pediatrics of Stavropol State Medical University was opened in 1973. Annually more than 100 students are admitted to the first course.
Over 37 years of existence more than 3100 pediatricians have been prepared and issued at the Faculty. Within the past five years, about 15% of graduates from the Faculty have received the Diploma with Honours. The course of training at the Faculty lasts 6 years. The academic process is carried out in several stages. Humanitarian subjects such as Native History, Philosophy, Law, Economics, History of Medicine, Sociology, Political Science and medico-biological subjects including Biology, Human Anatomy, Histology, General, Bioorganic and Biological Chemistry, Microbiology, Normal and Pathological Physiology, Pathological Anatomy, Pharmacology are studied in the first three years. In the third year, students study Propaedeutics of Children Diseases, Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, and General Surgery. Starting the fourth year, the academic process moves to the clinical departments located in hospitals and clinics.

The Faculty of Dentistry
Dentistry is a branch of medicine studying the structure and functioning of the teeth, their illnesses, their methods of prevention and treatment, as well as diseases of the mouth, jaws, and the border areas of the face and neck. There is no other field of medicine developing so rapidly as dentistry. Nowadays it became possible to recover even the very damaged teeth and to do their implantation, high-quality filling materials, modern tools for the treatment of teeth, and bite correction came to life.
The Faculty of Dentistry of Stavropol State Medical University was founded in 1958. Within 50 years’ period of its existence, there were prepared and issued to work more than 5 thousand of doctors. The bases of the faculty are equipped with modern facilities, specialized classrooms, which give all types of qualified dental care. The total area of the academic, laboratory, and clinical bases, attributable to one student is over 18 sq ms, which allows providing each student with the workplace at special departments. The course of study at the Faculty is 5 years. During the first two years, students study humanitarian and medico biological disciplines. The second- year students start studying the Propedeutics of Dental Diseases. Within 3-5 courses the students gain knowledge in dental and clinical disciplines. Training takes place on the ground of the children and adults’ dental clinics of the University, of the city’s clinics and dental hospitals. Starting from the 2nd year the students undergo the Medical Practice to obtain and consolidate practical skills.
Graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry acquire the specialty of «Dentist» and the ability to pass the following specializations: Therapeutic Stomatology, Dentistry, Orthopedic Stomatology, Surgical Stomatology, Maxillofacial Surgery, and Children Dentistry.

Nowadays, more than 500 foreign students from 33 countries of the world are trained at three faculties of the University: General Medicine, Pediatrics, and Dentistry. There are the Preparatory Courses, the Faculty of Advanced Training for Doctors, and the Professional Skill Improvement Faculty for teachers of medical schools and colleges. The Post Graduate Faculty, one of the largest in Russia, annually trains over 5000 physicians in 72 specialties.

The Faculty of Pre-University Education, The Small Medical Academy
The medical profession has very strict and serious requirements for those who decided to devote their life to medicine. Also, a huge amount of the educational material the medical students have to study from the very first days of school means that applicants must have strong and deep knowledge in core subjects.
The main task of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of Stavropol State Medical University is to help the prospective applicants in their quest to become the students of the Medical University.
The main aspects of the Pre-University Education Faculty are preparing the trainees according to the General State Examination programs, the organization of the Open Days for high school graduates, contests and quizzes, competitions, interaction with the general region institutions, the coordination of all career-oriented work at the University. The Small Medical Academy began its work since 2010. It was established according to the Academic Council decision. Training in the SMA allows 9-11 grade schoolchildren to become better acquainted with the medical profession and obtain the research work skills, to meet the prominent scientists and clinicians, to learn about the past and the future of medicine, to visit departments and museums of the University, to be adapted to the training conditions of the University. Training in the SMA is free of charge, except preparatory courses in general subjects.
Extracurricular Activities of Students
Students’ life is not limited to lectures, practical classes, tests, and exams. Studying at the University students can continue and develop their hobbies by singing, performing arts, choreography, folk, playing in a «KVN» team, participate in the volunteer movement, carrying out the research work. To keep themselves in a good physical form, they may go in for sports to one of the sections, and of course, they may demonstrate their leadership in the implementation of projects of the University Students’ Union.
The University created the conditions for improvement of the students’ health. The Center of Students’ Health is opened at our University, where the specialists carry out constant monitoring of the students’ health indicators during the whole period of study at the University.
Stavropol State Medical University is the only educational establishment in our city, which has a sanatorium, where the students receive comprehensive treatment or improve their health. Annually within summer vacations, our students have a rest in a sports camp at the Black Sea coast. The University has a sports complex with 25- meters’ swimming pool, two-sport halls, three gyms, and an outdoor basketball court.
One of the main components of the health of young people is their nutrition. For this purpose, canteens and refreshment rooms are opened in the educational buildings and students’ hostels. The University has four students’ hostels with furnished apartments for 2-3 persons. Kitchens are equipped with all the necessary facilities. There are shower rooms, washing rooms at the hostels.
In addition to the basic scholarship, the University Council scholarship, Rector’s scholarship, Students Scientific Society scholarship was established. The social grants for the orphans, for the disabled groups I and II, for the poor and other socially disadvantaged students are also established.

Based primarily in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia, the Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is a federal university made up of nine faculties.
Kazan State Medical University is a multi-functional and multi-leveled state institution of higher learning in medicine. It meets both personal and social needs in acquiring education in medicine, in developing biomedical and clinical sciences, as well as broadening scientific knowledge of medical sciences. Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is located in the central part of Kazan. The KSMU main campus is on Butlerov Street, although there are also other KSMU buildings throughout Kazan. The curriculum for General Medicine (M.D equivalent to M.B.B.S), Dentistry, and Pharmacy are righteously extensive and updated. Each subject begins with studying the disease and emphasis is laid on epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, pathological physiology, pathological morphology, clinical picture, methods of laboratory and instrumental examination of a patient, diagnoses, differential diagnoses, complication, prognosis, treatment, and prevention. Latin terms are given according to the International Nomenclature of different specialties. During the period of training, students are taught special subjects: in succession, they learn theoretically (from 1st to 3rd year) and clinical fundamentals (from 4th to 6th year) and acquire necessary practical skills. Every stage of training builds a foundation to climb up to the next level. The teaching process includes the approach, beginning with lectures proceeded by laboratory and practical work at hospitals along with an in-depth examination of patients, clinical duties, etc. Along with meticulous teaching equal emphasis is laid on colloquial, tests, quizzes, examinations, state examinations, final Interdisciplinary tests, oral answers, laboratory and written works, MCQ-tests, recording of case histories also form the part of day-to-day activity.
With 200 years of experience in medical training, KSMU is justifiably an international University. Kursk State Medical University

The Volgograd State Medical University
The University started as Stalingrad Medical Institute founded in 1935. In 1993 it got the status of the Academy, and in 2003 it was granted the status of the University. Academic Year
The academic year has two semesters. 1st semester starts on September 1 and ends late January followed by two weeks of holidays. 2nd semester starts in mid- February and ends in late June. July and August are University holidays.
Eligibility Criteria and Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Volgograd State Medical University an applicant has to have a Certificate of Completed Secondary Education which makes them eligible for admission to Universities in their own countries.
An applicant for admission has to submit the papers listed below.
- For applicants to be enrolled on Foundation Courses or to one of the colleges of the University (Russian or English medium):
- a copy of the certificate of completed secondary education attesting that the person is eligible to apply for admission to medical universities and colleges in their native country; the certificate has to contain a list of courses taken and grades obtained; the copy must be certified by a notary;
- a certificate of a foundation course completion in one of the higher educational institutions of Russia (for those seeking admission to become 1st-year Russian-medium students);
- a medical certificate excluding medical counter-indications for study (including the results of HIV-test);
- 12 photographs (size 4×6 cm).
Ryazan State Medical University
Ryazan State Medical University was founded in the year 1950. It was named after I.P. Pavlov. He was born and worked in Ryazan for very many years. He became the first Nobel Laureate for medicine. Ryazan State Medical University is considered to be one of the most renowned universities in Russia. RSMU has earned a very high reputation since the time of its existence in Russia as well as abroad. There are 56 departments and 16 academic buildings for the students. With that, there is the central scientific research laboratory, base dental clinic, consulting diagnostic polyclinic, botanic garden with the experimental ground and bee yard, vivarium, sports and health camp, gyms, tennis court, mini- football ground, and 2 mini football grounds. There is a rich library with scientific and educational literature in foreign languages.
There are 4 fully furnished hostels available for foreign students. The foreign students organize and celebrate their National holidays and concerts to represent the history of their cultures and custom.
It is located in Ryazan, Ryazan Oblast. The nearest airport is the Moscow Domodedovo Airport in Moscow, Russia. Ryazan is 196km south-east from Moscow and has a population of 1 million people. It’s a major scientific, military, and industrial center of Russia, with a large river port.
St. Petersburg State Paediatric Medical University (SPbSPMU)
The university is located in Saint Petersburg. For many decades, the university is an international center of higher medical education. Over the past half-century, several thousand foreign students from 70 countries and 4 continents have graduated. Currently, the doors of the University are open for students from more than 50 countries in the world. St. Petersburg University of Pediatrics is the oldest Pediatric University of the Planet. From the first day of foundation to the present day, the main task of the university is the treatment and rescue of children. Today SPbGPMU is more than 60 departments, fifty departments, more than 12,000 modern operations, and almost 100,000 satisfied and, most importantly, healthy babies from all over Russia per year. Nizhny Novgorod State Medical University
Privolzhsky Research Medical University (old-name: Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy, NNSMA) is one of the medical schools in the Russian Federation which is located in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
