MBBS in China - Course Duration
- To practice as a successful doctor, 5 years of classroom training is necessary wherein students will get all the required knowledge and thus the Chinese medical schools are structured to provide 5 years of classroom training.
- Practical training is also provided to students hand in hand.
- Students are then enrolled for 1 year of apprenticeship after successful completion of classroom training which will focus only on practical and hospital training wherein students will get a chance to deal with patients in real-time, to handle surgeries, operations, etc.

Jiangsu University School of Medicine
Jiangsu University (UJS) has a fantastic campus spread over more than 550 acres of land in the city of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province around 3 hours journey from Shanghai. Nanjing Medical University
Nanjing Medical University is a university in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. It was established in 1934 in Zhenjiang but subsequently relocated to Nanjing in 1957. The university has two main campuses: Wutai and Jiangning, both of which have international student apartments. Jiangning Campus, located in the university town in Jiangning, Nanjing, has a land area of eighty-seven hectares and is a center of administration, teaching, and research. Wutai Campus, located at the south foot of Wutai Hill in Gulou District, Nanjing, has a land area of eight hectares and is a center of clinical teaching and research. Capital Medical University
Capital University of Medical Sciences, also known as CUMS, CCMU, or CMU, is a university in Beijing, China, which was originally called Beijing Second Medical College. Capital Medical University (CMU) was founded in 1960, with the original name of Beijing Second Medical College. It ranks among the top academic medical institutions in China and is considered as one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. CMU consists of 10 Schools, 14 affiliated hospitals, and 1 teaching institution. The university and the affiliated hospitals have a staff of about 20,000. China Medical University
China Medical is a medical university in the city of Shenyang, Lining, China under the provincial and central governments. The MBBS program at China Medical University has been taught in the English language since 1978. Xinjiang Medical University
Xinjiang Medical University (XMU) formerly the Xinjiang Medical College, is a medical university in Ürümqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. XMU is at the base of Carp Hill in northeast Ürümqi and consists of a campus that is over 3 million square feet. It was ratified by the National Ministry of Education in 1998 and entitled by Jiang Zemin. Established in 1956, Xinjiang Medical University is a non-profit public higher education institution. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Medical University (XJMU) is a large coeducational higher education institution. Xinjiang Medical University (XJMU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. The curriculum places a particular emphasis on medicine, management, and linguistics, with the university facilitating 25 specialties for undergraduate students and 17 specialties for academic education. Xi’an Jiaotong University
Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is a key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China and is one of the oldest universities in China. The predecessor of Xi’an Jiaotong University was Nanyang College, which was founded in 1896 in Shanghai and renamed Jiaotong University in 1921. In 1956, the main part of Jiaotong University was relocated to Xi’an according to the decision of the State Council, and this relocated part of Jiaotong University was later officially renamed Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1959. In 2000, approved by the State Council, the former Xi’an Medical University and former Shaanxi Institute of Finance and Economics were merged with Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Currently, XJTU is a comprehensive research university with 10 major categories of disciplines: science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, education and art, and 27 schools, 9 university colleges for undergraduates and 19 affiliated teaching hospitals.
XJTU now has 38,103 full-time students, including 18,919 postgraduates. Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin
Established in 1951 as Tianjin Medical College, Tianjin Medical University was the first medical institution approved by the State Council after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The first president of TMU was Professor Xianyi Zhu, a renowned endocrinologist, and medical educationist. In 1993, Tianjin Medical College and Tianjin Second Medical College merged to form Tianjin Medical University, one of the national 211 Project key universities in China. Currently, Professor Yongfeng Shang, a prestigious biochemist & molecular biologist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is serving as TMU’s president and the university’s sixth president overall. The university is a dedicated and preeminent research and education institution with medical science as the core subject and life science as its foundation. Qingdao University College of Medical Science
Qingdao University is situated in the eastern seaside city of Qingdao, China, between the coast of the Yellow Sea and Mount Fushan. Kunming Medical University(KMU, formerly known as Kunming Medical College)was founded in 1933 and has since established itself as the largest specialized medical university of higher medical education, scientific research, and medical service in Yunnan, P. R. China. KMU has educated over 80,000 graduates since its inception. KMU has three campuses which occupy about 109 hectares. Jilin Medical University
Jilin University is a top 10 Universities of China having vast and beautiful campus and fantastic hostel facility. It is situated in Changchun city which is around 5 hrs ride by high-speed train from Beijing (further north). However, the weather is quite cold during the winter. As per the standard rule to study MBBS in China, the students have to study the Chinese language up to HSK – 4 levels during their 5-year classroom study. Jilin university is affiliated with almost 6,000 hospital beds in the city. The students have their options to do their internship in China by paying for the 6th year. However, in case the student to return to India after completion of 5 years, the University would hand over the provisional degree certificate for MBBS and allow the students to complete the internship in India.
Huanghe Science and Technology College, Zhengzhou
Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was first founded in 1907. Fujian Medical University
Fujian Medical University is a university located in Fuzhou, Fujian, China. Fujian Medical University was founded in 1937, named Fujian Provincial Medical Vocational School at that time. In 1969, after merging with Fujian Chinese Traditional Medical College and the medical department of Huaqiao University, Fujian Medical University was founded and moved to Quanzhou, Fujian. It was moved back to Fuzhou in 1978. The name of the school was changed back to Fujian Medical College in 1982 and then changed back to the present name in April 1996.
Fujian Medical University has started recruiting international students since 1995. Overseas Education College of FMU was established in July 2008. In 2009, FMU was approved by the Ministry of Education to enroll MBBS students. In 2011, after passing the assessment of the Ministry of Education, FMU became one of the universities that are entitled to enroll CSC Scholarship students.
